Eastlake Performance is an athletically inspired training gym located in South Lake Union. We have a diverse client population, but the majority come from an athletic background. Our clients are continually assessed on movement mechanics, exertion, and progress during each session, so that we can maintain a linear progression that is both challenging and obtainable. We prefer applicants that hold a current CSCS or be willing to pursue it in the future and have at least 1-year of experience training.
Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as a Co-Manager:
- Point of contact for current and prospective client questions and concerns.
- All employee managerial duties (may not be a complete list) e.g., hiring, termination, vacation requests, scheduling, motivating, teaching, etc.
- Monthly budget report
- Communicating any repair needs or monetary improvements of gym with owner.
- Maintaining spotless appearance of interior of gym and basic upkeep of equipment if need be.

Community Outreach/Design
- 3 exercise videos M, W, F, posted to our IG, FB, and Youtube
- Monitoring Post Engagement and innovating marketing campaigns to capture higher quality views
- Monthly marketing report meeting
- We don't do any hard sales or have quota's! We do however want our managers to contact local channels to promote our business and provide them with marketing material.
Maintaining Client appointments:
Punctuality and communication are extremely important in this “service business”, we advise that you arrive early and be fully prepared for each session. If you can’t make a session for any reason and unable to find someone to cover, it is important that you contact each client individually, so they can reschedule their appointment accordingly.
Cleaning:
- Keep facilities clean and wipe down equipment after personal/client use.
- Help out with Wash/Dry/Folding of clients and cleaning towels
- Contribute to posted cleaning list (vacuuming, sanitizing floors, bathrooms, kitchen, shower, and equipment)
- Keep all food in the office/kitchen/front desk and be cognizant of any crumbs or spills on the gym floor.
- No open containers on the gym floor except water, please.
* these maintenance items aren’t to control anyone, they are to prevent mistake and events of spillage that will eat into client workout time*
Appearance/Dress Code:
- Be clean, well-put-together, and void of strong perfumes or colognes. We have a community of smell-sensitive clients that we try to keep happy.
- If you have an Eastlake Performance shirt, please wear it as often as possible.
- Dress for success. Look good, feel good, train good :)
Training Protocol:
- Follow the basic structure of our workouts – Dynamic W/U, Pillar Stability, Workout Circuit/s
- Client workouts also need to be uploaded into Trainerize the day of the clients session so all trainers and clients can review them at anytime. This is especially important in cases of sickness or absences.
- Exercises should be chosen to challenge clients every session, and should have creativity and purpose.
- Clients need to be closely monitored at all times, form needs to be corrected if there is a mechanical error that could result in injury.
The Trainerize app also connects to smart devices and adds extra insight and information on caloric input/output and physiological progress while they are training with Eastlake Performance.Unless a client’s goal is stagnation/maintenance, we should always progress in each session. Any client requesting maintenance should also be properly assessed for mobility and ROM restrictions so we can focus on those biomechanical defaults during sessions in addition to the workout.
Pay for personal training hours:
The starting hourly wage is $25.00 or and will be reviewed at the 90-day point with a maximum raise of $27.50/hour. If you have a CSCS certification, you will start at $27.50/hour with the opportunity to receive $30/hr after the first 90 days. If you bring in your own clients you will get paid out $10/hr extra.
Managerial Pay:
During the 3-month probationary period, managerial hours will be capped at 5-10 hours per week of dedicated administrative hours and at a rate of $20-25/hour based on your experience. You will be required use the hours in accordance with the duties aforementioned within the managerial job description and be able to substantiate that the hours were used properly.
Post 3-month probationary period and with proven leadership and success in the position, a salary of at least 5% of our net profits will be given monthly to each manager. At each annual review another 5% will be added to your salaries.
Note: If there is an exceptional candidate that exceeds the owners expectations and our monthly net profits surpass the current needs of the gym, monthly/quarterly bonuses will be added to the compensation.
The current manager is making roughly $70,000
Equity Partner (3-year tenure) –
At the end of the 3-years at Eastlake Performance, you will be eligible to receive up to 20% of the net profits of the gym. Consistency, proven leadership, client accrual/retention, grounds keeping, communication, team-building, and community outreach will all be part of the consideration. As long as the gym continues to grow and thrive it should be easy to obtain this equity in addition to your salary and training hours at Eastlake Performance.
In any circumstance of absences of 3 or more months within a year, those months will be added onto the anniversary date so there is a full 3-years of work in the position.
As a salary employee it is important to know that the job duties within the title are not hourly and should be viewed as business building and learning opportunities. These duties should always be always performed to your best abilities and will be proven by the satisfaction of our clients and the owner.
Communication is inherent for success between all the managers and owner. I will be available as much as I can, and will always respond as quickly as I can to any emergencies or questions you may have.

Desired Qualifications:
- Have a 4-year degree in a business or fitness-related major and/or have a personal training certification from an accredited agency. If the former, applicants must have a training certification and be willing to pursue their CSCS Certification within the first 9-months of employment.
- CSCS Certification
- CPR/AED certified or can be completed before the start date.
- Understanding of the physiology and biomechanics of exercises and being able to explain them effectively.
- The athletic background is preferred, but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Good communication and reliability are a must!
