Director of Operations
Job Overview:
The Director of Logistics is responsible for various logistics, operations and technology functions ensuring production is efficient and effective throughout the lab. This includes a variety of responsibilities such as: overseeing production schedules, software operations, inventory and supply management, outsource production supervision and directing equipment maintenance schedules including fleet cars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee production while analyzing and optimizing lab procedures
- Oversee quality assurance
- Manage production software setup and maintain customer and product data as well as tasks and scheduling
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of cases
- Address and resolve shipment and inventory issues including returns
- Liaise and negotiate with both outsourced production vendors and shipping companies
- Monitor shipments, costs, timelines and productivity
- Meet with department managers to determine which logistics improvements need to be made to increase productivity throughout the lab
- Assist with case scheduling, invoicing and shipping

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is expected to stand for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift, push or move up to 20 pounds. Additionally, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be located in a lab environment, and the noise level is usually moderate.
