POSITION TITLE: Youth Employment Specialist, Anchorage
WORK HOURS: Eight hours per day, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
SUPERVISOR: Youth Employment Director
TEAM: Youth Employment Services
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION: This position falls under the guidance of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to provide employment and/or education services to at-risk out-of-school youth aged 16-24. The Youth Employment Specialist will also recruit employer partners to provide vocational training to the youth. This position will be based within the Nine Star 730 I Street location.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, assess, and enroll qualified at-risk youth in programming
- Provide pragmatic, goal-oriented case planning to assist youth in educational or career attainment
- Work professionally with at-risk youth
- Complete, via phone, text, or email, one year of follow-up services on exited youth
- Coordinate youth services with local employers, educators, and other service providers
- Professionally operate in partnership with other organizations, and other team members
- Promptly and accurately enter all relevant data into an appropriate database(s)
- Learn and be able to operate database systems successfully
- Ability to submit work that will pass independent auditor review
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and meet performance goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or an Associate degree in Human Services
- Experience working with an at-risk youth population
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
