INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
High School diploma or equivalent. Four years of directly related work experience in maintenance and repair of large facilities. Candidate must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of carpentry, structural repair and maintenance, mechanical unit replacement, and hydraulic repair. Current skill level will be determined by formal testing. External journeyman-level hires will be hired at the top rate of the current Apprentice level pay. Demonstrated ability to perform the Journeyman work will qualify the new hire to move to the Journeyman level. Must possess and maintain a current, valid State of Georgia issued CDL license (Class A) or current, valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s (CDL) Permit (Class A). Individuals hired with a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner’s Permit, must obtain a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) within three (3) weeks of their date of hire.

Internal Candidates will have a record evaluation check to determine if they are eligible to continue in the interview process. Candidates will be automatically disqualified for interview consideration if their record evaluations for the rolling year backward at the time of review consist of :
A combined total of more than three (3) occurrences and/or lose outs (tardies)
- Any instances of absence without leave (AWOL)
- Any valid customer complaints
Note: Record evaluations will be conducted based on the twelve months preceding the initial date of the posting. Candidates must remain in good standing once selected through the job screening and offer process. Failure to remain in good standing based on the criteria listed above will disqualify any candidate.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance and repair of MARTA buildings and support equipment. Repairs, inspects, installs, and/or replaces equipment to include fire lines, fans and dampers, generators, compressors, pumps, motors, lifts, jacks, train/bus wash, and other equipment. Performs support equipment, facilities and equipment projects/tasks as assigned.
A minimum of two years driving experience. A maximum of one (1) moving violation, with a maximum of three (3) points on Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) within a 24-month period. No DUI violations allowed.
