The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Director, FacilitY Operations.
This position will manage all aspects of facility operations to ensure a safe, secure, and enjoyable guest experience for both internal and external guests. Ensure all aspects of event production, planning, and execution are achieved for public events. Oversee the design and execution of exceptional service standards and industry-leading safety and security measures. Oversee physical building maintenance and systems including housekeeping, historic preservation, and restoration.
Major Responsibilities:

Supervise the following Departments: Guest Experience, Operations (including Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Restoration), Security, and Production. Provide strategic leadership and vision in opportunities to reduce business interruption, increase efficiencies and processes, control spending, improve service delivery and safety initiatives, and further develop the paid employee workforce and volunteer programs.

Create and maintain guest experience and emergency preparedness initiatives, policies, standards, training, and performance tracking for internal and external guests, ensuring the delivery of a grand sense of occasion and memorable experiences, and industry-leading efforts in both training and security measures. Develop and manage security and guest experience personnel and volunteers to ensure alignment with service standards, organizational policies, emergency preparedness, and applicable regulations. Maintain partnerships with local life safety agencies.

Oversee the Manager On Duty (MOD) Program, including ensuring applicable oversight and supervision of all public events. Responsible for the overall day-to-day coordination between all departments within the facility for effective event execution and venue operation. Provide necessary MOD training and certifications to applicable personnel, and serve as the primary MOD for the most challenging public events.

Ensure the effective management of all facility operations and maintenance systems including physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, and utility systems, plus work order systems, cleaning protocols, risk management, and preventative maintenance. Ensure the protection and preservation of the Fox Theatre's historic materials, collections, standards, and codes as defined by its Historic Landmark status.

Establish and manage capital and department budgets and productivity targets. Control expenditures within limitations and departmental and budget parameters.
- Provide support for capital project planning, long-term capital assessments, and construction and renovation projects.

Negotiate and administer any service or subcontractor agreements for departments under your supervision as needed, including negotiation of union contracts for stagehands, wardrobe, and hair/make-up; security and housekeeping staffing contracts; vendor agreements, and more.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

Personnel Hiring, Coaching, Developing & Evaluating.

Capital and Operational Budget Management.

Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, internally and within vendor and client management.

Skilled in Computerized Maintenance Management Software, Building Automation Systems, Customer Relations Management Tools, and Microsoft Products including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Knowledge of governmental permitting and regulations is preferred.
Established relationships with key vendors and contractors preferred. -
Experience in Historic Preservation and Restoration preferred.

Experience in a venue/roadhouse or similar environment and role preferred.

Experience negotiating and managing union contracts preferred.
Essential Physical Requirements:

Regular periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required. Must be able to traverse the building including moving between multiple floors. Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder.

Much of this position requires the employee to be physically on-site to perform their required duties. Remote work may or may not be permissible. Off-site requirements include but are not limited to travel for education and training, site visits, and meetings.
Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

5+ years of experience in a senior-level role OR 10+ years of progressive experience within Facility Management, Operations, or related field in a major hospitality or entertainment organization.

Experience in Facility Operations and Building Systems including Building Equipment, Safety & Security Operating Procedures (HVAC, Chiller, Boiler, Plumbing, Motors, Refrigeration, etc.).

Experience managing event security protocols, life safety measures, and crowd management.

Experience designing and implementing guest service tools and standards.
-
Experience in management of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, HVAC, janitorial procedures, audio/lighting, theatrical rigging, and stagehand labor.
