This is an inside sales position selling floor-covering, showers, backsplashes and more to retail customers with terrific growth opportunities. The position requires interacting with customers and assisting them with product choices according to their individual needs and desires. Whether that interaction occurs in our showroom or in the community, the objective is always to provide advice that will make the customers’ buying decision easier.
Responsibilities include:
· Providing consistent leadership and an unwavering commitment to first-class customer-service.
· Greeting clients in the showroom and determining their wants and needs, answering questions, and providing information to customers about current styles, design, flooring, showers and more.
· Assisting customers with selections - explaining features and benefits of each.
· Keeping up-to-date on the wide selection of products we offer, along with the benefits and warranties provided by each.
· Generating quotes based on the measurements and estimates that are provided by our measuring department. Candidates for this position are not responsible for field estimates/measuring, only for generating quotes for the clients. Field estimates/measurements are conducted by our estimating department.
· Appropriately managing time to effectively assist guests while in the showroom, generating quotes for potential clients and staying organized with open orders.
· Building and managing long-term client relationships to produce exceptional results.
· Networking and working effectively with our team.
· Following up in a timely and professional manner with clients on all requests and/or concerns.
· Due to our longevity and reputation in the community we require no cold calling for you to be successful in this role.
· Executing targeted sales strategies.
· Receiving payment or obtaining credit authorization.
· Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean.
GREAT candidates for the position will have:
· Experience in sales and/or working with clients (although not required).
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
· Basic math skills.
· A positive, can-do attitude and desire to exceed expectations.
· A passion for developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
· A passion for design, decorating and creating a space that clients will enjoy.
· Willingness to undergo our extensive product and sales training in order to become certified flooring and design expert.
· Must have access to reliable transportation in order to get to work, and to visit customers’ home (if necessary).
· Ability to work a pre-determined schedule, including a rotational Saturday. Our store is closed Sundays.
· Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to learn our operating systems.
Education:
· Degree or diploma supported by proven sales experience is desired.
· An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
Compensation:
· Multiple options to choose from based of candidate’s level of comfort and experience. Compensation packages vary based on ratio of salary to commission/bonuses and are designed to provide financial security throughout the training and development of the new hire.
· Consultants average between $70-$100k, with no limit to earnings. Consultants average between $50-$60k within the first year (without prior flooring covering experience)
