About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate would have a history working in the civil construction industry or closely related field. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs, HCSS programs, as well as familiar with the various below responsibilities. We are seeking a motivated individual to help propel growth; as well as be teachable, eager to learn the systems and practices in place, and have a high sense of integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research, prepare, and maintain schedule of projects to bid
· Download plans and project specifications from various sources
· Attend applicable pre-bid meetings
· Obtain and compare quotes from material vendors and subcontractors
· Prepare project estimate utilizing HCSS HeavyBid
· Prepare all bid documents, submit bids to project owner(s)/representatives and attend bid openings
· Supervise and assist assigned superintendent(s) with the day to day operations of the field consisting of, but not limited to, assigned paving crews, utility crews, DOT truck drivers, delivery drivers, and various other support employees, including various subcontractors
· Ensure assigned projects are being constructed in accordance with applicable design and specifications, and within allotted time and budget in accordance with Teamwork’s standard quality and reputation of work; assist assigned superintendent(s) and other employees in whatever means necessary to support the projects
· Review/approve daily reports/weekly reports for assigned projects consisting of work performed, Teamwork assets utilized, time and material charged to projects with applicable delivery tickets, and enter quantities in relation to pay items on schedule of values
· Supervise and approve the purchasing of materials and equipment for all assigned projects from approved vendors, ensure materials and equipment are being purchased within budget and with best value to the company
· Work/coordinate with all applicable project owners, owners’ representatives, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders regarding all necessary communication
· Prepare submittals on all assigned projects and submit to project owner(s) for approval prior to any construction activities
· Work with superintendents and foreman to identify potential issues with projects, submit any issues in an RFI format to project owner(s), follow up with Teamwork personnel on results of RFI
· Work with superintendents and foreman to identify areas within the project in which the company cannot be compensated with pay items, relay the information to project owner(s) in proper format as quickly as possible so that a Change Order may be submitted
· Supervise and assist superintendent in scheduling and coordination for all subcontracted work
· Attend preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and site meetings with owners, owner’s representatives, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders
· Supervise and maintain redline drawings for all assigned projects, where applicable
· Prepare weekly status reports for all assigned projects, facilitate weekly project status meetings with superintendent(s) and company management
· Prepare and maintain project schedules for all projects
· Ensure all assigned projects are being constructed within budget and that all projects are meeting or exceeding estimated gross and net profit margins, alert company management of any underperforming projects with a detailed explanation of cause for underperformance and corrective action plan in place to ensure profitability
· Supervise and ensure the timely submittal of all required paperwork and reports
· Supervise and ensure all projects are being performed in a safe manner and report any safety violations to the safety manager
· Report any and all equipment needing repair or service to the fleet manager
· Provide technical assistance, for example, interpretation of drawings/plans, shoot grades, recommending and demonstrating construction methods, necessary equipment, etc. to ensure projects are being constructed in a safe, correct, and timely manner
