The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) is seeking to hire for the position of Storekeeper I. This position works directly under the Distribution Services’ Manager in the Operational/Special Services Division of Administrative Services. The ideal candidate will be able to perform physical inventory of commodity items on a monthly and quarterly basis in the Illinois Department of Revenue’s (IDOR’s) Springfield warehouse. This position entails delivering supplies according to requisition requirements, and receiving, unpacking, and storing office supplies and forms in the warehouse. Under general supervision, receives orders for Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) office supplies via the Warehouse Ordering Application (WOA) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) designated ordering systems.

Drives Illinois Class “C” license trucks for deliveries and pick-ups.

Prepares physical inventory of commodity items on a monthly and quarterly basis by counting and stocking items on shelves.

Receives office supplies ordered.

Maintains orderly and clean storeroom and warehouse by picking up and sweeping areas that may have debris.

As workload permits, may be assigned to Mailroom to help with mailings and distribution of tax forms.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school.

Requires one-year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.

One (1) year of experience working in a warehouse or similar environment.
- One (1) year of experience maintaining accurate shipping and receiving reports.
- One (1) year of experience assembling, packing, loading/unloading, and transporting stored goods or materials.
- One (1) year of experience applying transportation, shipment, and purchase and requisition procedures.
- One (1) year of experience preparing stock records, shipping and receiving, and reports.

One (1) year of experience determining the quality of goods against prescribed specifications.
- Six (6) months of work experience conducting inventory of goods.

Requires the ability to successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check and tax clearance.

Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid class “C” commercial driver’s license.

Requires the ability to lift heavy objects above shoulder level.

Requires the ability to operate a hand jack, forklift, and straddle truck upon completion of onsite training.

Requires the ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.

This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requires the ability to use and secure a state issued mobile device, e.g., cellular phone, laptop computer, tablet, etc.
