WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for an EXPERIENCED Handyman to work with our existing fulltime superintendent of construction to help maintain and expand our restaurant facility. If you are our ideal candidate, you will be a self-starter, be able to manage yourself, and have a well-rounded skill set of general construction and repairs – including framing, concrete, minor electrical, minor plumbing, tile and finish work.
WHO WE ARE: We are anything but typical. We are awesome. We are an independent, family-owned, badass, high volume, waterfront restaurant that serves high-end fine food in a semi-casual relaxed environment. We have been in business for 26 years (1998) and our Executive Chef/Partner, Chris Bodensky, has been with us for the past 22 years. In total, we have 136 employees and we are all dead serious about what we do, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are funny, witty, and sarcastic – and our restaurant & bars are staffed with kickass talent from top to bottom. You’ll be working directly under our construction superintendent Chris Stanley, who is a licensed General Contractor, high-end finish carpenter, and jack of all trades.
WHO YOU SHOULD BE: You shouldn’t suck. You should be awesome. What we really care about is your previous experience - you should be a hard worker, you should have some LONGTERM past employment - and you should have the resume and references to prove it. If you don’t thrive on pressure, you won’t survive here AND be HAPPY at the same time, and we don’t like working around unhappy people. We’d be willing to make an exception for you if you’re miserable, but only if you are both – extremely talented and extremely funny.
WHAT WE OFFER: We offer full-time employment with overtime opportunities, we pay 60% of your health insurance and offer access to purchase dental, vision, and life insurance at below market rates.
FORMER & CURRENT CRIMINALS NEED NOT APPLY: YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A FULL 50-STATE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. Criminal background release form will need to be authorized and signed at the time of job interview, and we will need a clean report back in our possession BEFORE we will offer anyone a job.
YOU MUST HAVE A FULL SET OF YOUR OWN TOOLS & RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.
Your hourly rate of pay will be reevaluated after 90 days of employment.
