Summary:
An accountable Cashier which processes all cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. Duties and responsibilities of the cashier include greeting customers when entering or leaving the Café, ringing up sales, collecting payment, maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area and keeping reports of cash and credit transactions. The hours needed are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
The position pays $15-18 per hour and requires up to 28 hours per week.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist chefs with preparing meals for the Cafe

Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registers

Scan goods and collect payments

Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets

Redeem stamps and coupons

Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones

Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information

Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments

Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas

Keep reports of transactions

Bag, box or wrap packages

Stock items
-
Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure high satisfaction

Assist other café staff in cleanup, dishes, and next-day preparations

Adherence to all Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures

Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:

Proven working experience in retail cashier or sales preferred

Basic familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters, etc.)

Strong communication and time management skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
