HHCI is in search of a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team who will initially be hired as a part-time 1099 independent contractor. As the organization grows, the position will transition to becoming a full-time employee position with benefits.
This position is currently remote and field-based, but will require the RN to report to the office (located in Baltimore, MD) as needed. Remote work capabilities are available for as long as tele-health services are permitted by HHCI’s regulators and funding sources. The need to report to the office will be determined and communicated to the RN by the Clinical Director (CD)/CEO.
Position Summary:
The ACT team RN provides ACT services to a mutually shared caseload of ACT clients within HHCI’s treatment and recovery services division. The RN is responsible for utilizing evidence-based practices to assist their clients with meeting their treatment and recovery goals, and operating within the scope of their profession.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct client treatment and care to each admitted client of the ACT team at least monthly
- Conduct nursing assessments within 30 days of admission for newly admitted clients, and every six months thereafter for existing clients
- Coordinate referrals for medical/health services needed for admitted clients, including referrals to primary care physicians and specialists
- Request, track, monitor, and measure lab results from admitted clients annually
- Administer long acting injectable medications prescribed by the ACT psychiatrist
- Update and maintain a long acting injectable medication log
- Accompany clients to appointments, if needed
- Enter, sign, and submit all electronic clinical documentation to the CD within 24 hours of the encounter with the client, including progress notes and assessments
- Conduct intake screenings for prospective clients
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to ACT LPN
- Participate in interviews with candidates for vacant positions
- Onboard and provide clinical training to new hires, and train existing personnel
- Collaborate with consented external providers and internal personnel regarding the treatment goals of mutually shared clients
- Complete required trainings within established timeframes
- Review, approve, and address any discrepancies with timecards, and time off requests
- Complete personnel performance reviews
- Participate in the performance improvement/progressive disciplinary process
- Rotate the 24-hour on-call ACT phone with other members of the team
- Comply with all relevant standards and regulations of HHCI, the state of Maryland’s Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), The Joint Commission, HIPAA
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisors
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited BSN program
- Licensed in the state of Maryland as a Registered Nurse
- A minimum of 1 year of supporting the mental/behavioral health population post-licensure as a RN
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access), electronic health records, and the use of computers/laptops

- Experience with individuals who are diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness, and/or dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use conditions
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary mobile team

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
