Position: Part-Time Payroll Specialist and Tax Consultant

Hours: 20-30 hours per week (flexible)
About Us:
We are a rapidly growing team seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist and Tax Consultant to join our dynamic and innovative HR consulting company. Our ideal candidate possesses a wide breadth of experience in general bookkeeping, payroll processing, billing/invoicing, and account reconciliation. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also provide payroll tax consulting services to our clients. This role is highly client-facing and requires strong customer service skills. We are looking for someone who is a problem solver, coach, and wower.
We are seeking someone looking for permanent part-time employment, committed to RCR with flexibility in their schedule to work additional hours based on business needs. You will need to work a Monday-Friday schedule to be available for clients. We are not looking for someone seeking part-time employment in addition to other employment.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently for our clients using a variety of payroll systems including Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now, Gusto, and more
- Registering companies in new states for SUI/SIT and local taxes.
- Handle all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including filing and remitting payroll taxes, responding to notices, and staying updated on tax regulations.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on payroll tax matters, including tax withholding, reporting requirements, and compliance issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and support for their payroll and tax needs.
- Assist with general bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliation, and financial record management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and tax-related tasks.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to payroll processing and tax compliance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and QuickBooks is required; familiarity with other ERP and payroll software is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong data entry skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software and other proprietary tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and work schedules.
- Ability to work a Monday-Friday scheduled with longer days on Mondays/Tuesdays
Pay: $23 - $27/hour
