The Bridgewater Highway Department has begun a long term search for a Highway Worker to join our crew. * The ideal candidate would have a stable work history of dependable job performance in the construction, excavation, and trucking industries. Physical fitness is a must in this physically demanding position. The willingness to follow instructions from the Road Foreman and work cooperatively with the other Highway Crew is essential and non- negotiable. This is a serious job. It requires a dedicated and trustworthy employee.
Safety is paramount in this job. Proficiency in the safe operation of a chainsaw to clear fallen trees in the roadway is a must. A clean CDL driving record and passing random drug & alcohol testing are required. Daily duties of a highway worker include safe operation of hand tools, heavy equipment, dump trucks with snowplows, maintenance repair equipment, and roadway safety equipment. The ideal candidate would have VT commercial snowplowing experience in municipal size vehicles.
The Town of Bridgewater is seeking a competent, dependable, and fully committed person to join our Highway team. Summer season hours typically run on a 4 ten-hour workday week Mon-Thurs with the remainder of the year typically a 5 eight-hour day work week Mon-Fri. Overtime hours are required during adverse weather conditions.
