Position: Site Manger (Facilities/Janitorial)
Location: Louisville, KY 40218
Rate of Pay: Starting rate of pay is $50,000/annually
Position Description:
Our expanding company is seeking to hire an Area Manager to join our leadership team. Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Area Manager provides oversite to all facility and janitorial operations projects. This includes planning, liaising between the customer and FPG and organizing staff/stake holders, and project control and supervising/mentoring staff.
Examples of Work:
- Ensures facility operation is maintained in accordance with the approved budget and the customer's requirements to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Define the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management and performs strategic analysis.
- Partner with team leads to develop creative and practical solutions that improve operational efficiency based on feedback and quantitative/qualitative data.
- Coach, counsel, schedule and evaluate employees to ensure proper training is received (e.g., safety, skill improvement, standard specifications, etc.) to meet performance expectations and to ensure success within the team.
- Work in conjunction with HR on all hiring, terminations, timekeeping procedures and performance management.
- Create detailed work plans which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Build relationships of trust across functions and organizations; collaborate effectively across teams to define goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables, while maintaining a proactive relationship with the customer.
- Manage all resources (people, funding, materials, equipment, and contractual services) efficiently and in a manner that meets or exceeds the quality, service, and value expectations of our customers.
- Reviews and approves expenditures for tools, equipment, supplies and materials. May assist with preparation of facility budget.
- Assists the Facility Manager in the coordination of the Safety Committee objectives and purposes. Provides input and direction into the development, implementation and follow through of the local safety program and implementation of all safety programs as adopted by the Company.
- Other duties as assigned such as assisting with janitorial duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in managing projects up to completion is required.
- Proven experience in janitorial maintenance.
- Knowledge of project management, timelines, deadlines, and follow-through on finished projects.
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
- Strong supervisory skills with ability to mentor, coach, lead, develop and evaluate staff.
- Ability and willingness to travel 90% of the time, work overtime and janitorial duties as needed. (Incumbent will be provided a company vehicle and cell phone.)
Qualifications/Requirements: 5+ years in janitorial maintenance and leadership experience is required and applicants must, have a valid Driver License, a clear motor vehicle record, and will also be required to pass a background check and submit to a drug and alcohol screening.
Other/Special Note: The incumbent in the position will be required to be on call, work a varied schedule and travel to various locations, will travel up to 90% of their day. Also, the position may require bending/moving/carrying/pushing/pulling; lifting up to 50 lbs., working from ladders or other heights, standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces and working in extreme/inclement weather.
