Summary: Shall provide legal representation and advice to victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and/or child abuse who meet agency legal program eligibility requirements and who reside in Douglas, Ashland or Bayfield Counties, Wisconsin. Shall provide program and resource development. Shall coordinate services with other CASDA programs and community resource agencies.
Education and Experience Required: Shall be licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin. Shall have a minimum of one year of court experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or child abuse issues. Shall have supervisory and program
development experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- It is my responsibility to adhere to agency policy with regards to confidentiality.
- It is my responsibility to provide legal representation and/or advice in the areas of restraining order assistance and representation and be a back-up, when needed, to family law cases.
- It is my responsibility to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- It is my responsibility to commit to anti-oppression work.
Direct Services:
- Shall provide legal representation to victims of abuse who meet CASDA legal program eligibility requirements focusing on the following priority cases:
- Restraining Order assistance & representation
- Civil Family Law representation
Shall provide legal consultation and coordination of agency and community resources on behalf of victims of abuse within agency's service area.
- Shall provide advocacy as needed.
