Tiello has partnered with a highly successful General Contractor in the Houston, TX area on their search for a Traveling Superintendent (Industrial & Commercial) to work on Commercial Ground-Up and Light Industrial/Manufacturing projects for up to $50 Million in value.
We are looking for a Traveling Superintendent who can direct field operations for up to one or more commercial industrial projects.
The successful candidate will coordinate subcontractors and vendors as needed to ensure project completion while keeping management apprised of job progress.
Title: Travel Superintendent (5+ years)
Project Types: Commercial, Industrial, Warehouse, Food & Beverage, Core/Shell, Tilt-Up, Civil, Tenant Improvement, Distribution Center
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Project Schedule by directing the work of contractors so as to achieve the prescribed logical sequence of Work, maintain the scheduled duration of the components of the Work, resolve conflicts as they may arise, and obtain responses from the Project Engineer to requests for information from the field.
- Ensure that quality control meets Company standards.
- Ensure that each assigned project is run efficiently to maximize profitability, remains on schedule, and within budget
- Be the point person for all field issues pertaining to projects including material quantity issues, and other-vendor issues
- Report onsite issues to the project manager in a timely manner; present and discuss possible solutions quickly to ensure change order approvals
- Prepare agendas for weekly job meetings together with the Project Manager’s input and lead these meetings. Work hand-in-hand with the Project Manager on the effectiveness of weekly contractor meetings.
- Ensure that all contractors are using the appropriate and current revision to the plans in the field.
- Ensure that all contractors are utilizing proper means and methods so as to facilitate coordination with other contractors, promote job site safety and efficiency and timeliness of work.
- Establish a professional relationship with the customer and interface constantly with the project manager to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ year’s extensive construction experience in all facets of the project and in safety/preconstruction/staff development & retention/customer interaction.
- Above average knowledge of construction practices and trades
- Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook other tools used for communication purposes
- MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL
- Must have the ability to work independently, be self-directed, and able to take the initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes
