Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team in the Springfield, Virginia.
The Communications Specialist will assist in the research, writing and development of a broad range of written, spoken and digital communications for DOE. Support DOE Leadership in developing and implementing communications strategies designed to inform, engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders; as well as collaborate between agency employees working worldwide to convey the scope and impact of DOE’s mission.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement internal and external communications for DOE.
- Proactively identify and implement marketing strategies.
- Identify and solicit potential users and user groups for improved communications processes and means.
- Appropriate recommendations for message/information development, communication method selection, and timing of messages.
- Research, write, edit, and publish communications products (e.g. print, web, electronic, briefings).
- Collaborate with graphic designers, briefing developers, photographers, illustrators, Office of Corporate Communications (OCC) and other required staff as necessary when developing publications and other internal and external communications.
- Prepare material for internal publication.
- Manage and monitor production schedules.
- Develop new communication methods to reach target audiences.
- Support senior leaders by writing speeches, talking points, video scripts, briefings, communication plans/strategies, articles for publication, and other communication products as necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a combination (related business or industry experience will be considered with solid communications or marketing – OR – 15+ years of related experience in lieu of a college degree.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism
- Have a basic understanding of the DoD
- Have strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, presentation skills and experience with MS Office applications.
- Experience with graphic design tools and techniques
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with graphic design tools and techniques
- Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to attend meetings and speak to customers in-person.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations--must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
