Summary:
The Regional Director of Health & Wellness provides direct clinical support, guidance and serves as a clinical resource to Communities in their assigned Division as well as providing clinical expertise to the divisional team. The Regional Director of Wellness provides oversight and direction to Lifestyle 360 team members and Bridge to Rediscovery team members, in collaboration with National Director of Memory Care and the National Director of Lifestyle 360. The Regional Director of Health & Wellness is responsible for the successful implementation of resident care systems/processes, policies, and procedures in accordance with Five Star clinical practice standards, Lifestyle 360, and Bridge to Rediscovery associated regulatory guidelines. Oversees all the Directors of Resident Experience and the Floating Director of Resident Care for their Region, This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Wellness.
The Regional Director of Heath & Wellness also collaborates with the Chief Wellness Officer in the development or revision of clinical programs, policies, and procedures, with the National Director of Memory Care and the National Director of Lifestyle 360 for Resident Experience policies and procedures.

Promotes the values and goals of Five Star. Partner with CWO/SDOW to establish/manage divisional clinical program goals/outcomes. Partner with National Directors of Memory Care and Lifestyle360 to establish the resident experience goals/outcomes. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the Five Star organization. Serves as an expert/clinical resource, involving other departments to achieve quality resident outcomes. Models’ excellence and commitment to quality resident care, experience, and services. Demonstrates effective organizational, delegation and time management skills.
Human Resource Developer – in partnership with divisional team, implements strategies to effectively recruit, retain, coach, educate and ensure meaningful work to maximize job satisfaction of our staff:
Provide support/coaching to Directors of Resident Care (DRC) and other community level clinical leadership team members. Partner with the ED in the DRC interview and hiring process. Partner with ED to provide DRC orientation, on-boarding, and training. Conduct group DRC orientation programs. Facilitate/coordinate ongoing clinical and leadership related educational programs with DRC, Lifestyle 360, Bridge to Rediscovery, and other key leadership team members.
Communication – demonstrates effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
Effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the Five Star organization. Demonstrate effective team building skills. Establish effective/regular communication system with DRC team. Establish effective/regular communication system with Regional Director of Operations and Director of Operations.
Resource/Financial Management – budget and manage department resources.
Partner with SDOW to assess clinical staffing needs and/or efficiencies related to resident acuity and annual budget planning. Partner with National Director of Memory Care and the National Director of Lifestyle 360 to assess resident experience staffing needs/and or efficiencies related to resident programming. Support and monitor Community compliance with Clinical IT system initiatives (i.e., electronic health records, “point of care” documentation systems and level of care. Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Department related to formulary management and clinical evaluation of resident care supplies/equipment.
