ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
La Escuela Comunitaria del Bronx (ECB) is a free, private, progressive inquiry-based, dual language (Spanish-English) program that seeks to serve families and their children in the Bronx. Beginning with early childhood education, ECB seeks to promote student learning success and impactful community engagement by providing a challenging instructional program, expanded learning opportunities for both students and their advocates, and a full range of health and social services for members of the school community. ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for an experienced operations professional to serve as a key member of our founding team. The School Operations Manager will play a critical administrative role, establishing and maintaining strong systems to ensure families and staff have what they need to be successful. They will work in close partnership with and report to the Head of School, taking the lead on critical non-instructional work.
The core responsibilities of the School Operations Manager include:
Recruitment & Enrollment
- Establish and maintain strong systems and ensure the successful execution of all aspects of the student recruitment and enrollment cycle including but not limited to outreach, application support, lottery acceptances, waitlist management and enrollment support
- Maintain all student records and ensure compliance with all Department of Health requirements
- Support logistics for recruitment and enrollment events throughout the year
Facilities, Equipment & Technology
- Establish and maintaining strong systems for upkeep of common areas throughout the school building
- Ensure instructional supplies and materials are maintained in teacher work spaces
- Maintain the operations storage areas clean and organized
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our custodial provider
- Serve as the first level of support for day-to-day equipment and technology support and troubleshooting for staff
Finance Operations
- Own the ongoing procurement of materials and supplies, tracking and ensuring delivery and maintaining inventory, including playing a key role in summer procurement to prepare for each new school year
- Partner with our back-office vendor Ed-Ops, establishing and maintaining strong processes for vendor invoice submission and monthly credit card coding, promoting strong financial practices, and helping to inform the school’s monthly budget forecast efforts
- Own the implementation of the school’s meal program, including vendor relationship management, systems for daily distribution and record keeping for federal reimbursement
Human Resources & Compliance
- Partner with our back-office vendor Ed-Ops in support of successful payroll administration
- Establish and maintain strong systems to ensure school staff are compliant with all Department of Health regulations and that the school meets all reporting requirements
General Operations
- Provide outstanding operational support to students, families, and staff
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors or others calling or coming to our school
- Support daily arrival and dismissal as well as front desk operations
- Provide administrative and logistical support for school events
- Maintain School Social Media

- Have experience or proficiency with technical programs related to schools (student information systems, parent communication platforms, etc.)
All candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in English and Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years experience working in operations in a school setting (early childhood preferred)
