School Nutrition Plus is a school catering and food service consulting business located in Los Angeles, CA. We are an innovative company that assists schools with all aspects of the Child Nutrition Program, from planning menus and catering meals, to directing cafeteria operations at school districts. We run health-focused programming as a signature service.
Job Summary/Objective: Will aid in all needs that pertain to, food service and office operations, , under the Account Manager. This position requires self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision with a high level of discretion and interpersonal judgment. Must possess the ability to meet deadlines under time constraints. This person will work closely with our account manager and account coordinator to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and to develop long-term relationships with your customers. Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
Job Duties:
- Assist in keeping track of the various projects that are being executed for the client and ensure that schedules are maintained. Be able to proactively intervene and address concerns. Examples include organizing and attending special events such as BBQs or food tastings, and following up on customer service matters.
- Supervise meal servers at assigned school sites with the support of the Account Manager
- Execute administrative assistant duties as assigned in the absence of the Executive Assistant.
- Prepare documents for Account Manager for Audits and Menu compliance
- Assist in coordinating food and compliance activities at all school accounts.
- Type memos and design general correspondence, basic charts, tables, graphs and flyers.
- Proofread documents for spelling, grammar and layout, make appropriate changes and distribute highly confidential documents
- Provide administrative support on matters relating to mandates/documents that are time sensitive
- Other duties as delegated by the president, vice president or Executive/Management Team
- Monitor the daily meal ordering system
- Assist with maintaining the special event calendar
- Visits sites to complete site monitoring, site training and QA reports at all assigned schools.
- Review for accuracy, monthly invoices and meal counts of assigned clients.

Work Environment: This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and computerized point-of-sales system. This position also requires visiting multiple school sites and some events may be outside.
Essential Physical Functions:
· Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
· Heavy computer key board work
· Sitting for majority of 8 work day with daily standing and walking at school sites
· Driving a car to and from satellite schools
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Position may require extra work hours at certain times of the year when special events take place, such as school activities and staff meetings
Travel: This position requires travel to some of our client schools in the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County area . Some interstate and national travel may be required from time to time.
Required Education and Experience:
· An AA degree or certificate program is highly desirable
· Computer skills: Proficient in MS Word, Intermediate knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Knowledge of National School Lunch Programs (NSLP) is ideal but not necessary.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
