Overview:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, with a graduate degree relevant to higher education analysis preferred, and a minimum of five years’ experience with data analysis, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in higher education and analytical research and analysis, preferably in selective college admissions. Experience with statistical software (e.g. SAS, Stata, R), databases and analytical tools, and the ability to translate statistical analysis into an understandable and actionable format are required. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work quickly in a deadline-driven environment are essential. Since this is a new position, the person holding it will need to be proactive, responsive, and flexible, and will have the opportunity to make their mark on the Duke admissions process.

Duties:
-Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources (e.g., Slate, Student Search, PeopleSoft, Common and Coalition Applications, WICHE, Landscape) to analyze the efficacy of recruitment efforts, study the effects of demographic trends, and aid in consideration of appropriate changes and enhancements;
· Create and update ad hoc and recurring queries, reports, statistical analyses, graphs, and dashboards for the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions to drive strategic decision-making in recruitment activities, yield activities, and applicant selection;
· Effectively use data interpretation and visualization tools (particularly Tableau, Excel, and similar software) to communicate the meaning and importance of data sets.
· Provide data to help assess the selection process for first year students and transfer students and make appropriate recommendations concerning enrollment goals.
· Collaborate with other offices as appropriate, including Institutional Research, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs, in sharing and analyzing data.
· Participation in recruitment activities, including individual or consortium travel, and participation in the application evaluation and selection process may be required.
Qualifications:
-Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
