Directs and leads participant(s) though explanation, demonstration, and guided practice.
Responsibilities

Actively utilize “Instructor Guide” during classes; all objectives should be introduced and practiced

Adapt teaching approaches to ages, experiences, and abilities of participants so they can meet class/level objectives

Provide for the health and safety of participants, by ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials
-
and equipment is safe

Communicate regularly with participants and their parents; they should be aware of progress of skills
-
Take attendance (if Lessons Supervisor or Aquatics Director does not)

Use skill demonstrations and positive reinforcement while teaching your class new skills
-
Return all equipment to its proper place after lessons

Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules, and regulations; educate patrons about them

Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to Aquatics Director

Follow Emergency Action Plan when needed

Fill out required records and reports on schedule

Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor or director

American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

American Red Cross Oxygen Administration (preferred)
-
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (preferred)
