As the Catering Sales Manager you will play a key role in the success of the entire hotel. This position will solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals.
Essential functions for Catering Sales Manager position are:
- Sell and solicit new and repeat catering business.
- Plan, up sell, and coordinate all details with each client.
- Communication of function-arrangement to all responsible hotel departments.
- Communication with clients prior to events to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.
- Coordinate with client’s contracted vendors (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction and ensure proper event execution.
- Possibly be present onsite during each event to ensure proper event setup and satisfaction of client which may involve nights and weekends.
- Maximize revenues for the hotel through upselling techniques.
- Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
The best candidate for the Catering Sales Manager at the Sheraton Charlotte will have:
- A proven track of developing and retaining Catering clients.
- Ability to develop, influence and close contracts.
- Strong leadership qualities and highly organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 2+ years’ experience within a high volume, full service hotel catering environment.
- Experience with CI/TY is a plus.
