ABOUT THE ROLE
The COMPEL Administrative Coordinator is responsible for handling all administrative and operational aspects of COMPEL Writers Training and providing overall support to both membership and staff. As part of the COMPEL team this role strategically assists a faith-based community of writers to find direction, receive training and discover motivation to keep going.
Role Type and Duration
This is a temporary, full time role for a period up to 18 weeks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintain the COMPEL website by updating various pages as needed and load new content to the course library weekly along with associated resources.
- Assist Director with developing new Learning Pathways as needed, including sourcing presenters, communicating requirements, collecting videos, creating content descriptions, website updates, etc.
- Assist with writing content for weekly posts and scheduling posts in The Gathering Place for all semester Cohort experiences; managing associated Basecamp tasks for graphics, content, etc.
- Manage all administrative details surrounding the monthly content for members.
- Manage member communications including writing email content and campaigns, as well as, loading, testing, scheduling and sending membership emails for projects, writing challenges, campaigns, special promotions and announcements.
- Write content for post and manage announcements in The Gathering Place as assigned
- Respond to a high volume of member and non-member customer-service related tickets daily.
- Provide support to the COMPEL volunteer program by managing volunteer information, administering volunteer COMPEL accounts, the Volunteer Leader Group and various other administrative duties as assigned in association with the program.
- Managing tasks related to posts for The Gathering Place and answering customer service-based or writing challenge questions in the Forum.
- Manage the loading of quarterly blog posts into the database and requesting graphics
- Write social media content as needed, and submit graphics requests to design for all social media posts as directed by the Assistant Director.
- Handle additional administrative tasks and special projects as needed and requested by the Director.
- Assists with managing all content for the COMPEL/COMPEL Pro website and managing updates, as needed.
- Manage all Basecamp tasks in an accurate and timely manner, meeting all required deadlines.
- Assist the Director with all content, planning and administrative needs associated with coordinating the annual COMPEL Pro A Day for Writers.
- Attendance at the annual COMPEL Pro A Day for Writers, as well as the She Speaks Conference, which takes place in Charlotte, NC every July.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- An understanding of and a commitment to the mission of Proverbs 31 Ministries and to the mission and vision of COMPEL Training.
- 3-5 yrs of related administrative/project management experience with 1-3 years of experience working within an online learning or community environment preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Docs, Canva, social media tools, automated email systems, Basecamp, Hubspot, and WordPress with the ability to create, maintain and organize a high volume of documents and spreadsheets and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
- Exceptional content writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of previous work. Experience in publishing and social media preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with a high attention to detail to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as, in collaboration with others.
- Enjoy working with people and have a customer service mindset with a passion for encouraging others and helping them grow and succeed in their craft.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible and adaptable to change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to work at a computer station and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Capability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, with opportunities for adjustments to ensure comfort and accessibility.
- Capability to operate a computer, including typing and using a mouse, as well as handling office supplies and documents.
- Sufficient vision to read documents, use a computer, and observe project details.
- Ability to understand verbal communication in person, over the phone, and in virtual meetings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying light objects such as laptops, documents, and presentation materials, typically weighing no more than 20 pounds.
