- Assist attorneys with intake and preparation of primarily immigration cases
- Remain current on immigration law developments
- Use immigration case management program to file forms and keep track of fees and deadlines
- Assist clients in applying for immigration benefits including family petitions, asylum, citizenship, and defense from deportation
Job qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prefer 1+ year of experience in law firm setting and/or with immigration law
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (Additional languages of Quiche or Portguese may be considered)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong writing skills, especially in English, analytical skills
- Ability to use a number of computer programs, including: client databases, client management software, cloud based storage,
- Ability to manage multiple and competing demands in a busy law office
- a consultative/teamwork approach, ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing needs
- Understanding and appreciation of clients’ goals, cultures from around the world
