POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for individuals with experience in the industrial field with mechanical millwright capabilities or iron work and rigging. Please see description below!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Mechanic-Millwright)
- Mechanic: Aptitude with mechanical machinery for assembly and disassembly.
- Millwright: Ability to set equipment such as, pumps, motors, generators, conveyors, compressors & process equipment. (Fundamentals such as layout for anchor bolts, level (including shim as required), and align motors to couplings)
- Ability to interpret plan view drawings for layout of equipment.
- Understanding of mechanical and structural components and how they work together.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Ironworker-Rigger)
- Proficient in the erection of multi-level structures consisting of beam and column bolted and/or welded construction.
- Proficient in safe practices for connecting steel.
- Understanding of erection drawings and the assembly of shop fabricated components.
- Ability to work at heights, using proper PPE.
- Proficient in safe practices for rigging steel, equipment, and other items, using a variety of slings, come-alongs, chain falls, spreader bars, and other lifting accessories.
- Proficient in knowledge of crane hand signals and communicating with crane operators when lifting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Flexibility to travel between projects on a daily and/or weekly basis.
- Flexibility to work in both clean (food-grade) and dirty (recycling facilities) environments.
- Willing to work at least 40 hours per week (Mon – Thu on a 4-10’s schedule), with the flexibility to work overtime as required. Some night shift may be required.
- Flexibility to work outside of your trade.
- Flexibility to travel between Hagerstown, MD and Winchester, VA
EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 Years previous construction experience, preferably as a Mechanical Contractor or Prime Contractor in an industrial environment.
- Understanding of plans, specifications, P&IDs, and ISOs.
- Self-Starter – Ability to work alone on a project, and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation with active driver’s license
- US Citizen and/or Green Card Verified
