We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team! The Registered Nurse will provide medical oversight, support and supervision.
Locations: Westbury and Port Washington, NY (Nassau County)
Position: Part time
Hours: Flexible
Hourly Rate: $41.60
Responsibilities:

coordinates and oversees medical, dental, nursing, and clinic services

monitors residents for signs of acute illness, complications, and exacerbations of chronic conditions

reviews lab/test results and medical appointments to ensure timely follow-ups on prescribed and recommended treatments

participates in clinical/staff meetings to provide valuable medical and nursing information
-
apart of the Nursing Department’s on-call schedule to ensure telephone triage coverage
-
attends weekly on-site nursing visits involving health assessments and reviewing medical records (e.g., MARs, seizure charts, meal plans, vital signs, etc.)

makes nursing recommendations and refers residents for medical treatment as needed
-
participates in admission and discharge meetings
-
supervises nursing tasks and patient care (e.g., first aid, wound care, vital signs) to ensure staff competency
-
completes safe medication administration, following physician prescriptions and regulations
-
maintains DSP/Frontline manager AMAP competencies
-
reports any unsatisfactory direct care staff performance or conduct
-
assists with medical training, AMAP classes, and annual in-services supports new employees
Qualifications:

New York State RN licensure
-
Associate’s degree in nursing required, bachelor preferred
-
experience working with the I/DD population preferred (OPWDD)

valid New York State driver's license

ability to work independently

excellent verbal and written communication skills
