PT to FT Maintenance Worker sought for a GYN Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Downtown, Brooklyn, New York.
SUMMARY
Maintains the organization's interior furnishings in a clean and orderly fashion, ensuring a pleasant environment for patients, visitors and staff. Provides through established practices, policies and schedules, relevant cleaning measures for the control and prevention of infection in the surgical suite and other patient delivery areas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cleans all areas of an assignment given by the Facilities Manager according to the policies and procedures of the facility. This cleaning is to include, but not limited to the following:
a. Cleaning and disinfection of the surgical suite and disposal of soiled linen and solid waste.
b. Damp dusting of OR furniture, tables, stretchers, anesthesia machines, recovery room furniture, as needed at the end of surgical sessions and between cases.
c. All other furnishings and bathrooms.
d. All clinical and non-clinical areas.
2. Removes trash, cleans hallways and vacuums carpets.
3. Properly stocks necessary supplies/inventory.
4. Follows standard precautions as set forth by OSHA and facility policy.

5. Maintains knowledge of chemicals, names and use/dilutions
a. Identifies chemicals by name
b. Uses chemicals as per manufacturer's instructions.
c. Familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and binder location
6. Completing and assisting with periodic project work.
a. Washing walls, windows.
b. Shampooing carpets.
c. Buffing and maintaining hard floors.
d. Cleaning and defrosting refrigerators.
7. Will use the following equipment effectively and safely: small scrubbers, vacuums, wet floor signs, carts, ladders.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
9. Communicate clearly and effectively with Administration and staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in Maintenance, Facilities, and/or Housekeeping preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Ability to use environmental services equipment including, but not limited to: small scrubbers, vacuums, wet floor signs, carts, ladders, etc.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs

- Position's tasks may produce blood or bodily fluid exposure unexpectedly (PPE is provided)
