JOB TITLE: Bellman
DEPARTMENT: Front Office/Rooms
DIRECT REPORT: Front Office Manager or Front Desk Supervisor
FUNCTION:
Greets and assists with guest arrivals and departures by
handling guest check-ins and check-outs while providing prompt and courteous
service, including receiving telephone calls, guest requests, guest reservations,
fax and ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily check to ensure keys, units are ready for check in
- Daily bag pulls, luggage pick up and drop off, guest pick up and drop off
- Ensure all luggage is correctly labeled and stored
- Ensure bellman room is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times
- Assist shuttle drivers with guest and luggage pick up and drop off
- Unit, key, locker, and telephone checks when requested
- Assist housekeeping staff with common area cleaning and laundry
- Clean and maintain lobby, entrance doors and bell trolleys including snow removal
- General Office errands
- Assist guests with general questions and enquiries
- Assist Front Desk during periods
- Check all telephones are hooked up and numbers are correct
- Assist in cleaning of hotel for opening
- Develop a good understanding of layout and be able to give directions to all areas in Hotel including pool.
- Be able to supply the guest with all information that they need to be able to enjoy their stay.
- Any other reasonable request as made by Front Desk Supervisor, Duty Manager and Reservations Manager
- Ensures complete guest satisfaction.
- Answering Guest inquiries i.e. directions.
- Recommending local area restaurants, points of interest, or needs for transportation.
- Handling guest needs.
- Maintaining cleanliness of front desk, lobby and back office.
- Ensures that Quality Standards and Service are maintained for Property, Product, and People.
- Must be able to work all shifts or varying schedules to support business needs.
- Ensures Security for the hotel’s customers, employees, and property assets.
- Supports established policies and procedures for WinStar World Hotel and the hotel’s brand.
- Maintain clean and tidy appearance
- Maintain clean and tidy work area
- Assist in Front Desk daily clean up
PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to lift and carry upwards to 25 to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned area.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Work in cold & hot temperatures, indoors & outdoors
- Possibly be exposed to second hand smoke.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $7.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
