About Us: Solamente Pizza is a contemporary Neapolitan pizza restaurant located in Las Vegas. Our commitment to quality means our pizzas are always made from scratch, with no artificial ingredients. We use 100% naturally leavened dough, made from specially selected Italian flour fermented for a minimum of 2 days before being cooked in a woodfire oven. We take pride in delivering an exceptional dining experience with authentic, flavorful pizzas.
Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the preparation of dishes according to our recipes and high standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with dough production, a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients for use in cooking including dough production
- Receive deliveries and maintain product rotation in compliance with all health and safety laws
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Assist line cooks and other kitchen staff as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify the Head Chef of any shortages.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar role in a restaurant setting preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving quickly in a busy environment.
