Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Technician at HON Partners. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs in occupied homes. In addition, The role will require working in High Opportunity Neighborhoods in/around Cypress Texas. A typical day involves receiving work orders, prioritizing them, planning the routes, and then driving to each home to complete the tasks. While some repairs are straightforward, such as changing faucets and light fixtures, others are more complex, like drywall repairs and leak detection.
Qualifications
- At a minimum, 5+ years of light HVAC, medium plumbing and light electrical experience required. In addition, candidate should have experience with general handy work and drywall/leak repairs
- Graduated from College or completed higher education beyond high school.
- Ability to repair/replace water heaters and garage doors is preferred
- Knowledge of section 8 and rental licensing preferred, not required. However, expected to learn on the job
- Ability to work independently, prioritize jobs, and schedule jobs accordingly and efficiently
- CMMS knowledge – AppFolio or other
- Reliable transportation required – truck or van preferred. Candidates who don’t have a vehicle cannot be considered at this time
- Candidate must communicate early and often with tenants and Corporate
- Educating residents on maintenance topics to ultimately achieve HON’s maintenance and cost savings strategy
- Background checks and drug screenings will be conducted on all final candidates, as deemed necessary
- A brief technical interview will be conducted with all candidates.
