Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Development Manager to join our team at Directions for Our Youth. In this role, you will be responsible for leading fundraising and development initiatives, cultivating donor relationships, and securing financial support to advance our mission and programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, donor stewardship, and relationship management, with a strong commitment to our mission and values.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and campaigns to generate financial support for DFOY’s programs and initiatives.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential supporters to secure major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and other forms of philanthropic support.
- Research funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and prepare funding applications in collaboration with program staff, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and funding guidelines.
- Manage donor communications and stewardship activities, including donor recognition, acknowledgments, reports, and updates to foster ongoing engagement and support.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, donor cultivation activities, and stewardship events to engage donors, raise awareness, and generate support for DFOY's mission and programs.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and program staff to develop fundraising goals, budgets, and strategies aligned with organizational priorities and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance, track donor contributions, and prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in philanthropy, fundraising, and non-profit management to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
Experience:
- Proven experience in digital marketing and fundraising within the nonprofit sector
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and securing funding from various sources
- Knowledge of market trends and strategies for donor engagement
- Proficiency in software applications related to development activities
- Strategic planning expertise to drive organizational success
- Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms
