Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide oral hygiene instructions, and assist the dentist with various procedures.
Duties:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings.
- Take dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and identify any signs of disease or abnormalities
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and charting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software (e.g., Dentrix)
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient care
- Provide dental care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics
Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in [state]
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using Dentrix is helpful, but not required.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Strong understanding of oral anatomy, pathology, and periodontal disease
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record medical histories in patient records
