Job Summary:
As a PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing PLC programs and SCADA systems for packaged generator sets, biogas digesters, and renewable natural gas upgrading systems. This will involve conceptualizing industrial processes for program designs and system protection schemes, analyzing mechanical and electrical designs, and building sequences of operations.
You will be responsible for implementing sequences into functioning PLC programs, assembling programs into user-friendly SCADA systems, testing, commissioning, and maintaining your projects. Understanding and implementing automation designs from mechanical and electrical drawings, preparing and revising CAD files, equipment specifications, manuals, and sequence of operation documents are also key responsibilities.
Effective communication with contractors and customers is essential, as is the ability to assist the sales department in creating estimates for new projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC and SCADA programming, as well as excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
To sum up, a PLC Programmer will be responsible for designing PLC and SCADA systems, conceptualizing industrial processes, analyzing and building sequences, implementing and assembling programs, testing, commissioning, maintaining projects, understanding automation designs, preparing documents, creating automation programs, effective communication and assisting in sales estimates with good knowledge in PLC, SCADA programming, problem-solving, analytical skills and NEC.
Duties:
· The programmer is responsible for conceptualizing industrial processes for program designs and system protection schemes
· The role requires analyzing mechanical and electrical designs, building a sequence of operations, implementing that sequence into a functioning PLC program, and assembling program(s) into a user-friendly SCADA system
· The employee will also play a key role in testing, commissioning, and upkeep of their projects
· Understand and implement automation designs from mechanical and electrical drawings
· Prepare and/or revise CAD files, equipment specifications, manuals, sequence of operation documents, etc.
· Create automation programs for system control.
· Interact with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication
· Assist the sales department with creating sales estimates for new projects
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of professional experience in an automation technology-related field
· Experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, and variable frequency drive programming
· Ability to understand and implement automation designs from mechanical and electrical drawings.
· Ability to prepare and/or revise CAD files, equipment specifications, manuals, sequence of operation documents, etc.
· Experience with automation programs for system control
· Excellent writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation
· Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems
· Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
· Familiarity with relevant design software and the National Electric Code is highly preferred.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
