Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) is a well-established, AAHA-certified, specialty-emergency hospital that has been serving the Long Island and metropolitan community for over 25 years. We have a staff of over 160 fun and enthusiastic professionals supporting of our mission, Pro Bono Animalium Hominumque… ”For the good of animals and humans”. We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic, Veterinary Assistant who enjoy being part of a team and have an innate calling to care for animals, their families, and fellow teammates. Best candidates should possess the following traits:

- Meticulous to detail & organized
- Display tact, professionalism, and diplomacy with clients, LIVS personnel, and fellow team members
- Interact intelligibly and pleasantly with clients and staff
- Exercise attention to detail
- Flexibility with assigned tasks which will change depending on which service you are working with.
- Applicant must be flexible and able to work any area of the hospital
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Professional & reliable
The role of the veterinary assistant is to provide care for all hospitalized patients under the direction of the veterinary technicians and veterinarians. The assistant is responsible for patient cleanliness and comfort, patient restraint, feeding patients, and adhering to hospital cleaning protocols, and documentation of findings in medical records.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
