ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Assists in management and implementation of quality system policies, procedures and instructions throughout the organization.

Drives Root Cause, 8D, Problem Solving efforts

Through collaboration, identifies and implements Corrective Actions and Error Proofing strategies.

Conducts internal audits for compliance with quality systems.

Facilitates education and training of employees in quality systems and procedures.

Leads continuous improvement activities.

Responsible for customer communication in quality conformance issues.

Leads supplier quality initiatives, driving improvements in reliability and quality performance of supply chain

Performs verifications and adjustments to APQP/PPAP documentation and practices (e.g. DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instruction, etc.).

Problem resolution and improvement processes with external suppliers using Kaizen activities, 8D, and other corrective actions methods.

While home facility will be in Denton, candidate must be able to travel (10%-20% travel) to supplier facilities or other NIC sites as needed.

Heavy Interaction with customers regarding quality and design issues to reach successful resolutions.

Manages the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy.

Coordinates quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality, reliability, and minimize costs.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
-
Minimum 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management or related fields is desired but not required.
-
Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive supplier quality management is desired but not required.
-
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt highly desired, but not required.
-
This position requires a successful track record in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.

Strong background with all quality tools (MSA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, SRR readiness, DOE and FMEA) desired.

CAD/SolidWorks experience not required, but would be a great addition.

Experienced in GD&T.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 systems, including auditing experience.

Strong organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks; completes assignments within expected time frames.

Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and internal management with a high level of effectiveness.
