Precision Metal Works manufactures metal stamped parts and components for the appliance and automotive industries. We have approximately 250 team members and two manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY. Our facilities boast 42 stamping presses, a state of the art powder coating paint line, robotic welding, cosmetic stainless-steel finishing and numerous assembly operations.
Precision Metal Works has an immediate opening for a Team Lead (Supervisor).The Cell Lead (Supervisor) is responsible for supporting their team in delivering high quality, low cost products to perfectly meet customer delivery expectations. The Cell Lead (Supervisor) must support the company culture and values of honesty within his/her respective team and the entire Precision Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead team of employees in shift compliant with all safety, quality and production goals.
- Moving employees as production demands
- Developing and training team members
- Identifying, facilitating and encouraging continuous improvement opportunities
- Recording, tracking and understanding employee efficiencies
- Performing Safety and Housekeeping Audits and addressing deficiencies
- Experience in operating/performing each job function in his/her respective work cell
- Understanding and promoting the quality systems
- Scheduling and prioritizing production in his/her respective work cell
- Reporting out information and actively participate in production meetings
- Entering work orders into the system
- Coaching and motivating team members which includes team members who are struggling to perform
- Leading by example and with integrity-- Remains consistent in terms of what one says and does in behavior toward others
- Effectively multi-tasking
- Updating Machine Information Boards
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and two+ years related experience and/or training.
- Forklift driving experience
- Experience working in a safety capacity within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Prefer those with solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong technical/mechanical aptitude and ability to learn complex equipment
- Excellent communications skills (written and oral)
- Proficiency in operating computer systems (Microsoft Office – specifically Excel
- PLEX knowledge or similar ERP system is highly preferred.
- Must be a results driven individual with good attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills required
- Must have the ability to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
- Ability to adapt to change in processes, activities, and/or direction.
- Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities and ability to drive improvement
- Proven ability to work in teams and foster team interaction
