As a Senior Designer at our firm, you will play a key role in shaping the visual identity and functional excellence of our projects. Leveraging your extensive experience and design expertise, you will collaborate closely with project teams to develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that surpass client expectations. The Senior Designer is a pivotal figure in driving design excellence, mentorship, and project success within our dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Provide design leadership and direction throughout all phases of project development, from concept design to construction documentation. Lead brainstorming sessions, design charrettes, and client presentations to communicate and refine design concepts effectively.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design solutions seamlessly into project deliverables. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation.
- Conceptual Development: Generate creative and innovative design concepts that respond to client needs, site context, and environmental considerations. Translate conceptual ideas into compelling visual presentations, renderings, and graphics to communicate design intent effectively.
- Design Documentation: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive design documentation, including plans, sections, details, and specifications. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Review and critique design work produced by junior team members to ensure alignment with design standards, project objectives, and client expectations. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support their professional development and growth.
- Client Interaction: Act as a key point of contact for clients, participating in client meetings, presentations, and workshops to discuss project progress, design options, and feedback. Cultivate strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in design software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and/or other 3D modeling/rendering programs. Stay updated on emerging technologies and design trends to enhance design capabilities and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in landscape architecture, with a focus on design excellence and project leadership.
- Strong design portfolio showcasing a diverse range of project types and scales, with an emphasis on creative problem-solving and innovation.
- Excellent design sensibility, with a keen eye for aesthetics, spatial composition, and materiality.
- Proficiency in design software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and/or other 3D modeling/rendering programs.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines, and exceeding client expectations.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
The annual salary for this position is $95,000 per year. We offer a comprehensive benefit plan that includes medical, dental, prescription, life insurance, long‐term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and both a Traditional and Roth 401(k) account. We also provide a generous vacation plan, paid holidays, and half-day Fridays.
