Position Summary:
Brock Built Development is growing its business and is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Estimator to advise on the foreseeable cost of each of our developments and will immediately add value to the organization and mesh with the dynamic, hardworking, and adaptable team that exists today. The Estimator will obtain all relevant project specifications, determine the most appropriate building materials, and secure favorable prices on all resources. You will also inspect trends in construction to determine whether estimates are reasonable and competitive. The Estimator must be a quick learner, a quick thinker, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and satisfy our customers. Your duties will include surveying potential worksites, collaborating with contractors, vendors, and labor agencies, and providing a comprehensive costs analysis for potential clients. Excellent communication skills are required to present your estimates to stakeholders. MUST have knowledge of one of the following: AGTEK/BID TO WIN/TRIMBLE to be considered.
Job Functions:

Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.

Collect all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.

Study documentation, meet with clients, and inspect construction sites to fully understand scope of work.

Determine the most appropriate human and material resources for each project.

Negotiate with service providers to secure best pricing. Obtain multiple quotes and determine most suitable offers.

Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
- Develop and prepare conceptual estimates and scheduling of projects using HCSS (Heavy Bid), Primavera, and MS Office.
- Develop subcontract interest in projects and manage the subcontractor RFP process.

Qualify and level subcontractors' proposals according to project specifics.

Itemize trade specific scopes and prepare bid packages.

Interact with clients, architects, engineers, and local jurisdictions to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc.

Assist management with project controls set-up including materials, work plan submittals, job cost tracking, and material buy out.
- Continually marketing the company and looking for future opportunities to grow the business.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Job Qualifications

4-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Field experience equivalent

Qualification in project management is highly advantageous.

One to Five years' Construction experience related to heavy civil and highway construction.

Ability to negotiate with seasoned sales personnel.
- Dedicated, well-organized, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Detail oriented with the ability to focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Proficient with commercial estimating software such as: Agtek, Bid to Win, or Trimble.

Ability to read and understand technical specifications and plans.

Outstanding research and proposal writing skills.

Solid quantitative skills.
- Dependable, conscientious, and well-spoken.

Ability to provide effective verbal and written communication.
- Meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning.
- Days and hours of work vary based on job size and job location (40-55 hours weekly). Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen.
