Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our facility. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment and systems, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management and facilities management.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversees the maintenance department and manages all maintenance employees.
· Prepare work schedules, assign work, and supervise (while minimizing overtime and call-in hours.)
· Coach, counsel, and manage the performance of maintenance personnel.
· Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery.
· Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
· Reports to the Operation manager and reports any information that may impede the operations of the plant.
· Provides technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.
· Provides hands on support to keep plant operational.
· Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety program, and good housekeeping.
· Improve and lead the maintenance organization, designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance the longevity of the site's equipment.
· Actively participates in planning and executing outages for the facility.
· Responsible for maintaining records associated with mechanical integrity.
· Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage within a designated rotation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Has a strong safety focus and treats safety as their top priority.
· 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance leadership is required, including a history of increasingly responsible positions.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and vocational education (electrical or mechanical); or at least 5+ years’ experience in “hands on” maintenance of machinery in production operations.
· Bachelor’s degree in Paper Science, Mechanical Engineering or related journeyman’s experience preferred.
· Must have demonstrated leadership experience and skills. Success building and leading teams, engaging a Unionized workforce and empowering decision making in direct reports is required.
· Excellent communication skills. Competency with Microsoft Office including Excel.
