The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.
The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Nurse Manager
- Provide leadership for the unit by making staffing decisions in concert with supervisor, labor and delivery, nursery and women’s health.
- Is accountable for and is able to organize, prioritize and make appropriate patient assignments.
- Holds self and other staff members accountable and exhibits responsibility for work performance and continuous improvement of patient care in his/her work area and throughout the hospital.
- Ensures self-compliance with professional, regulatory and government standards of care.
- Demonstrates the knowledge of needs and tasks for Women’s Health and Labor and Delivery (including outpatients)
- Ensures that she/he and the staff for whom they are responsible, satisfactorily complete clinical procedures, documentation, and appropriate teaching for patients in the department

D. QUALIFICATIONS
a.) RN graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
a.) Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
b.) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
