Job Overview:
JAS Design Build seeks a Skilled Painter with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years' experience in the following:
Brushing, rolling and spraying of oil and water-based paints, stains and sealants.
(thorough understanding of proper application techniques for various materials: primer, texture, paint, stain, and enamel).
Prep work: Filling, caulking, and sanding of walls and trim (both interior and exterior), masking, safety and protection.
Use of HVLP equipment
Lead paint protocols and Hazardous materials (OSHA 10)
Van organization and maintenance (including routine service work/oil changes with outside contractors)
Other requirements:
Excellent understanding of jobsite maintenance/management and clean-up, including proper waste disposal and tool and van maintenance.
Prior use of spray booth
Basic carpentry experience (or willingness to learn)
Motivation and team skills: great communication via phone, text, email, and in-person (with coworkers, managers, and clients).
Basic computer/cell phone skills, including some knowledge of zoom, Outlook and Excel
Punctual and Reliable
Clean driving record and WA state driver's license
Comfortable working at heights, including on ladders up to 40 feet

Wages
All wages at JAS Design-Build, Inc. are hourly, working over 40 regular hours per week is paid at time-and-a-half the hourly rate. Positions are full-time working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM. There may be periods when schedule dictates a reasonable amount of overtime.
It’s important to work during the core hours of operation but occasional flexibility and time off is approved on a case-by-case basis. Depending on position, a combination of working from home and in-office work may be considered.
JAS Design-Build, Inc. has a discretionary bi-annual bonus which is based on company and division profitability, market conditions, employee tenure, and personal performance.

Holidays and Bonuses – JAS Design-Build, Inc. offers paid holidays, optional unpaid holidays, and discretionary bonuses. : seven paid holidays a year, two optional work weeks at the end of December (unpaid or accrued PTO applicable), three unpaid optional Federal holidays, and two bonuses every year since the recession in 2009. However, paid holidays and unpaid optional time off are not guaranteed. Bonuses are discretionary based on overall profitability, market conditions, tenure, and personal performance.
Benefits eligibility for full-time employees begin the first day of the first month after 60 days of employment – Health/Dental/Vision/Long Term Disability/401k:
Health, Dental & Vision – provided by Regence Blue Shield and VSP – JAS Design-Build, Inc. has a PPO plan with a $250 deductible and a $2500 maximum out of pocket for preferred providers for Employee only plan. Employee cost currently is $95.88/month. Dependents may be added to the plan at the employee’s expense.
Long Term Disability – 90-day Elimination Period (one must be unable to work for 90 days to trigger a benefit). Maximum benefit is $8000/month.
401k retirement plan – Defined Contribution plan administered through Vanguard. JAS Design-Build, Inc. has an employer match of 25 cents for every dollar of employee deferral that is currently capped at $2000 annually.
