Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and direct all quality control and sanitation functions to ensure a consistent quality beverage is produced. Ensures a safe, legal, sanitary and food safe working environment
Primary accountabilities:
- Responsible for the supervision of Quality Control Lab Technicians
- Responsible for the supervision of Batching Technicians
essential functions, Job duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure product quality in accordance with EPIC standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate job expectations; planning; monitoring and assessing job results; coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Ensure all food safety standards are met and maintained.
- Serve as back-up for Food Safety Program.
- Maintains thorough and accurate records of all phases of quality control, including microbiological testing. Reverse Osmosis processes and sanitation processes.
- Ensure proper documentation for all company policies and procedures is complete and verified as required by regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Manage yields to meet EPIC standards and meet yield objectives that are complimentary to company policies and goals.
- Coordinates back-ups for, and may also serve as back up to, Quality Control Lab Technicians and Batching Technicians.
- Work along with management to develop, motivate, train and direct staff in their respective duties to maximize plant efficiency and productivity.
- Plans, promotes, and organizes training related to product quality and reliability.
- Effectively communicates relevant information in a clear, timely and accurate fashion to employees, management, and other departments. Communicates all issues related to product quality.
- Maximize cross development teamwork through communications and relationship building within the department.
- Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed, and maintained in accordance with established company policy. (GMP’s, OSHA, etc.)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Must have interpersonal, analytical, and statistical skills
- Should have overall knowledge of production operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast pace environment.
- Working knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and mathematics.
- Should have a combination of 2-3 years of related experience and/or training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must be able to work 8+ hour shifts.
- The ability to work frequent overtime hours.
- The ability to work weekends when required.
- The employees must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to sit; stand; walk; reach with hands and arms on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to work in a cold, hot, wet, and/or humid environment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
