PRIMARY PURPOSE: Follows routine cleaning procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.

Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning and safety procedures.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.
Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work well with employees and administrative staff.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Cleaning assigned area by dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing and removing carpet spots.

Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.

Performing tasks, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing and walking.

Assists with lunchroom set up, including arranging tables and chairs.

Working with chemicals.

Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms.

Moves furniture or equipment within building as directed by principal.

Assists in setting up facilities for special events.

Assists with opening and closing building each school day.

Follows established procedures for locking, checking and safeguarding facilities.

Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.

Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
EQUIPMENT USED: Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, hand tools, shampooer and floor machine.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interprets policy, procedures and data; coordinates district functions; maintains emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent district-wide and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.
Minimum Starting Pay: $15.25* Depending on experience
Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 2:00PM - 10:30PM
