Title: HR Coordinator
Program: Human Resources/Payroll Departments
Schedule: Hybrid (2 days remote) after 3 months
Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
Overall Responsibilities:
The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the HR Generalist in effective, efficient, and accurate completion of duties and responsibilities, in support of the Human Resources and Payroll Departments. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including recruitment, onboarding, benefit administration, training & development, and policy interpretation. The position will work as a cross-functional role under the guidance the HR Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties of the HR Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following activities:
- Responsible for new hire process including the onboarding activities such as, background checks, collection/verification of new hire paperwork/documents and creating all new hire folders (personnel/benefit/pension)
- Responsible for, collection of background check paperwork, reviewing, and processing background check paperwork and updating ATS
- Conducts new hire orientation on a rotation schedule
- Manages and create organization photo and building ID’s
- Managing, reviewing, and processing all Unemployment claims
- Assists with benefits administration of health & wellness including enrollment/termination/other elections changes, HR communications, open enrollment, and annual wellness events
- Reconciles benefit vendor billings and invoices and submit check requests and payments
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions in a timely manner
- Running all background checks both general and extensive, including: SEL, SCR, Intellicorp and Medicaid Sanctions checks, prior to clearing applicants for hire; scheduling fingerprinting appointments for applicants and meeting with them prior to the fingerprinting appointment
- Processing all new hires and terminations in the Justice Center database within 14 days of hire and termination
- Timely processing of all terminations in the Medicaid Sanctions database
- Completes monthly Medicaid sanctions report and secures approval from HR Director, prior to submission
- Provides backup support to HR Coordinator when on leave
- Provides support on various Human Resource projects as needed
Physical Activities
Job duties generally require the physical activities described below, subject to any necessary reasonable accommodation due to disability. While performing the duties of this position, the HR Coordinator is required to operate in a normal business environment, which includes sitting, bending, walking, lifting, operating computers and other office equipment and traveling to all Project Renewal sites for scheduled meetings/trainings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline in preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience required
- Understand human resource principles, practices, and procedures
- Experience with leave administration or Payroll a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ceridian/Dayforce preferred or related HRIS software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
