The primary purpose of this Research Technician I position is to focus on high-throughput bulk and single-cell multi-omic data in ocular tissues, dissociate human tissue samples and prepare them for NGS-compatible experiments, and perform a wide range of cellular and molecular biology techniques such as cell culture and CRISPR-mediated genome editing and luciferase assays. The lab focuses on understanding the role of variable gene expression driven by non-coding cis-regulatory sequence variation in the context of age-related macular degeneration.
