Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery in a manufacturing setting. The technician will ensure that all equipment is operating safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize production output. This role requires a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Inspect, clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and systems to ensure proper functioning.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore equipment to operational status.
Collaborate with production staff to address and resolve equipment issues promptly.
Equipment Installation and Upgrades:
Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new machinery and equipment.
Implement equipment upgrades and modifications to improve performance and efficiency.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding equipment maintenance and safety standards.
Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and downtime incidents.
Update maintenance logs and databases with relevant information.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Provide feedback and suggestions for improving maintenance processes and procedures.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and machinery.
Capability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
Working Conditions:
The position involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times to ensure safety.
