We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fireguards to join our team. This position is on-site.
Position Summary:
The role of fireguard /security guard is primarily to ensure that everything is in accordance with the safety permit. If a situation occurs, they will provide emergency response and ensure people are safe until the local fire department sends help.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

Fireguard must make sure that all posted fire safety signs are clearly visible.

Fireguard must also make sure that exits signs posted above doors are always illuminated.

Fireguard is required to make regular visual inspection and patrols of the assigned area of responsibility.

Responsible for conducting surveillance patrol on the property.

Responsible of keeping a record of everything. As a Fireguard, typically you must keep log to record what they notice during their patrols.

Fireguards are responsible of addressing fire hazards. If the fire watch guard notices that something isn’t functioning properly or there is a fire hazard the property manager isn’t aware of, they will address the issue right away. They also provide emergency response in case of a fire breakout assisting the management and escorting the staff to safety.

Responsible for ensuring that equipment is available. Fire watch security officers also ensure that fire extinguishers and other equipment are available for emergency cases.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:

Must be a NYS Licensed Security Guard Officer

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have 8HR Pre-assignment, 16 OJT and 8Hr Annual completed.

Must have valid NYS DOS Security Guard Unique Identification Card

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.

Must perform security patrols of designated areas.

Must observe and report suspicious activities and persons.

Must have ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.

Must have ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.

Must monitor and control access at building entrances and exits.

Must investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.

Must pass a detailed two-step interview process to qualify for the position.

Must have an F-02.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma / GED
-
Experience: 1+ years of Security/fireguard.

Must have an F-02 certification.

The rate for this role is $24.08 hourly. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
