Description:
General Summary
Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
Collect and document data related to critical control points to ensure that the product being produced is within food safety specifications. Inspect and record product data being produced at pre-determined intervals based on customer specification throughout the production run and work with operations to resolve out of specification issues.
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures to include K&P good manufacturing practices (GMP) and food safety policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Exhibits proficiency regarding the QA Tech I position.

Inspects facility and equipment for acceptable sanitation during both preoperational inspections, changeovers, and operational inspection.

Perform calibration checks for weighing scales and thermometers.

Assists in collection of microbiological and chemical/Allergen samples for equipment, raw materials and/or finished product.

Inspect Line/Area and equipment after maintenance or production repairs to ensure food safety compliance.

Collect and retain samples for micro evaluation, shelf-life studies and routine customer evaluation per sample schedule.

Work with Logistics for sampling for returns, customer complaints and micro issues

Inspects and approves all raw materials, dry ingredients, and packaging for use upon receipt.

Inspects and approves co-packed products following accepted sampling procedures.

Checks finished products for workmanship, sensory evaluation and assign hold product as necessary.

Conducts food safety (HACCP) monitoring which includes label verification, batter temperature control, farm raises seafood certificate, metal detector verification and initiates corrective actions when necessary.

Communicates in a timely manner with appropriate supervisor when quality or food safety parameters are not met or are trending toward non-compliance.

Utilizes Infinity statistical process control (SPC) system to collect and maintain data.

Work in collaboration with R&D on commercialization runs.

Knowledge of all K&P quality related documentation

Keep accurate and timely records, both written and computerized.

Complies with company safety, quality, SSOP, HACCP and GMP guidelines.

Other duties as assigned.
Two available positions - Core hours of work are but can vary:

7AM to 5PM (day shift)

5PM to 3AM (night shift w/ shift differential)
Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance required

Working knowledge of SSOP, HACCP and GMP guidelines preferred

Ability to use computer software systems and perform data entry

Demonstrates a high level of precision, accuracy and alertness
