Scope of Position
The Security Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of all guests, members, Associates, and visitors. He/she will provide the highest degree of professional and courteous service while overseeing the assets of the resort. The Security Supervisor will ensure that all security officers are performing at a high level and will coach and counsel them as needed. He/she will continuously evaluate policies and procedures to ensure the best interest of the resort is being met.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
- Proven ability to handle a multitude of tasks in ever-changing environment.
- Analyze information from several sources and to make rapid accurate decisions based on the information gathered.
- First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Shift, Key Watcher, SAFLOK is a plus.
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in a luxury resort or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-shift briefings.
- Delegate duties and ensure proper compliance.
- Select alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Interact with management and officers in a professional manner, making constructive suggestions.
- Interact with local authorities and inform them effectively of all needs and answer pertinent questions confidently and accurately.
- Always comply with standards and regulations to encourage a safe and efficient resort operation.
- Adhere to office policies set forth by security management.
- Assist all other areas of the resort as needed provided that the immediate and superseding security function is not being compromised.
- Maintain continual surveillance of resort areas, bordering property, and CCTV systems.
- Complete security activity logs, documenting all activity during shift.
- Respond to all incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure all incident reports are completed accurately.
- Defuse any incidents of threats or violence within the resort.
- Check all packages and purses of associates exiting via the staff entrance/exit or entering the parking areas.
- Maintain awareness of all suspicious persons and escort them off the property if warranted. Check and record identification of suspicious persons.
- Conduct rounds throughout the resort, paying attention to unsecured areas. All discrepancies must be documented.
- Knowledgeable of the resorts computerized locking system.
- Receive and process all lost and found items as per procedures established.
- Train new hires on company/department policies and procedures.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Education
Skills and Abilities
- Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
